Keep your eye on the sky on Sunday, to see the so-called "ring of fire" eclipse... New Mexico is considered one of the spots that'll have an especially good view. It's been almost two decades since this kind of eclipse could be seen in the continental united states. The late day sun will become a glowing ring. 33 national parks with a full view are hosting viewing parties... a partial eclipse can be seen from another 125 national parks.

Taos High School seniors graduate next weekend... and numbers from the state show the graduation rate for LAST year is better than the state average. In taos, the district-wide graudate rate for last year's class was 67-and-a-half-percent... that was down from 71-point-7-percent for the class of 2010. The state public education department says the four-year cohort rate, state-wide, for 2011 was 63-percent... that's down from 67-point-3-percent for the class of 2010. The cohort rate tracks students through their high school careers at a school... and looks at how many graduate within four and five years.

during an election in Penasco on Wednesday. Incumbents Chris Duran and Ambrose Mascarenas kept their seats... they were challenged by former co-op manager Ernesto Gonzales. Today, there is a trustee election in Angel Fire... and there's another on Monday in Ojo Caliente.
